Cousins at Play

On a whim, I decided to bring my camera along to our weekly gathering at Ish's parents' house.  I had a lot of fun following my children and a couple of their cousins around as they played outside.  The swing set in the backyard has provided a whole lot of entertainment over the past few years, and it is interesting to see how the different children use it to entertain themselves.  Lily is finally old enough to really enjoy parts of it on her own.  She loves climbing up the ladder to the slide, but she also likes to climb up the slide.  Little Ish likes to climb the wall and using the tire swing.

Estimated Due Date

Today was my estimated due date for Sam, the sweet baby that I miscarried in August.  I knew the day was swiftly approaching, but I still felt a bit blindsided when I noticed that today was May 6th.  I have been having a sad sort of a day remembering my little one.  Although the sting of loss has lessened a bit over the past 8 months, it seems fresh and new today.

Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

Ends and Beginnings

I finally finished my shawl last week, and boy am I glad to be done.  The weight of the shawl was making for very sore wrists during the last 40 some odd rows.  On Sunday, I cast on a pair of Sheepy Pants for Liliana.  I am loving the yarn which is Cascade 220 Paints in the Carribean Sea colorway.  I kind of wish I had purchased a couple of extra skeins in this color because it is absolutely gorgeous and the color has been discontinued.  I am not the only one who likes the colors either.  Aside from Ish complimenting it, a random gentleman in a waiting room stopped me to tell me that it was pretty.

As for reading, I am still reading about fermentation, but I have also been listening to a lot of books.  In the past few weeks, I have listened to L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, and I have moved on to Anne of the Island.  All three books are read by Karen Savage on LibriVox.
